„ZuFlucht“ (~ About migration / ~ about refuge)
A media project at the Institute of Media Sciences, University of Tübingen
At present, there are more than 51 million refugees worldwide. Being a refugee implies searching for shelter in an unknown country and learning a foreign language. Migration also implies a new beginning and an opportunity to create a diverse society, a society abundant with cultures and experiences.
We are a group of students of media sciences. We discuss news coverage on migration/refugees and also ask the question: how can we cope with differences and similarities and how can we jointly determine our terms of living together?
Together with you, we intend to create a platform for creative team-work within our project „ZuFlucht“. We would like to exchange opinions and experiences with you, listen to your stories and learn what is important to you.
Together with you, we want to tell stories on living together in Germany. We want to produce movies, photographies, text, radio plays and animation, for example on topics like friendship, home, language, dreams and goals in life. The project is guided by Prof. Dr. Susanne Marschall and Prof. Dr. Tanja Thomas, both from University of Tübingen and the journalist Prof. Dr. Claus Kleber. They will support us and share their experiences.
We are happy if you are willing to share your knowledge with us. You can assume the role of a protagonist or the role of a journalist, a camera operator or a photographer. The decision is up to you: you can work in front of the camera or behind it, you can write a text, take photos or do animation work. You do not need to have any specific experience with media work. But you should be interested in media and journalism.
It would make communication more easy if you had some basic knowledge in English or German. Just don`t be afraid: everyone is allowed to make mistakes.
Your project participation will be like an internship at the University of Tübingen and if you want to, you will get an internship certificate afterwards.
If neccessary, your identity will be protected and your name will not be published.
Apart from the creative team work and the internship certificate, the project provides a great opportunity to meet people and make friends.
Together, we can create the society we want to live in. Help us doing this.
